THE SALVATION OF GOD

Psalms 50:23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

THE SIMPLICITY THAT IS IN CHRIST

{The Nature of God’s Salvation – According to the Scriptures}

2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

There are some things in the Holy word of God that are “hard to be understood” [2Peter 3:16] “the Gospel of the Grace of God” [Acts 20:24] is NOT one of them. It is not “hard” to get saved - God made salvation quite simple; so simple that most people stumble at “the simplicity that is in Christ” and insist on adding to God’s free gift of Salvation provided by His Grace.

The following treatise is a simple outline of God’s Salvation - according to the Scriptures.

BIBLICAL SALVATION

GOD’S PART

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

The Gospel of the Grace of God is summed up in the following verses

1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The Lord Jesus Christ has given Eternal Life to His Sheep

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

God has given the “gift” of Eternal Life to His children – only Through Jesus Christ

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

1 John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

We are “Sealed” by the Holy Spirit of God

2 Corinthians 1:21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

The record of the Holy Scriptures testifies to the truth of God’s Salvation:

  • God (the Father) GAVE His Son to SAVE the world. [John 3:16-18]
  • Christ (the Son) GAVE Himself for me. [Galatians 2:20]
  • Christ DIED for us. [Romans 5:8]
  • Christ GAVE Himself (for us) as an OFFERING & SACRIFICE to God. [Ephesians 5:2]
  • Christ SACRIFICED Himself for sin. [Hebrews 9:24-26; 10:12-14]
  • Christ has WASHED us from our sins in his own BLOOD. [Revelation 1:5]
  • We are REDEEMED with the precious BLOOD of Christ. [1Peter 1:18-19]
  • Christ FINISHED the WORK that God had sent Him to do. [John 4:34; 17:4]
  • Christ FINISHED the “WORK” of SALVATION (REDEMPTION) on the cross. [John 19:30]
  • Christ GIVES His sheep ETERNAL LIFE. [John 10:27-29]
  • Christ’s sheep are in His HAND and in the Father’s HAND - NO MAN can PLUCK them out. [John 10:27-29]
  • God GIVES ETERNAL LIFE to His children. [Romans 6:23; 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13, 20]
  • We are SEALED with the Holy Spirit of promise unto the DAY of REDEMPTION.

     [2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:30]

Pray tell me:

  • Is there anything that I can Give to Save the world (or myself)?
  • Is it possible for me to Die to Save someone else (or myself)?
  • Is it possible to Offer or Sacrifice myself to God for a sweet smelling savour?
  • Can I Sacrifice myself for sin?
  • Can I Wash myself from my sin in my own Blood?
  • Can I be Redeemed with my own Blood?
  • Can I ADD my own works to the WORK of SALVATION that Christ already FINISHED?
  • Can I Redeem myself by ADDING my “Works” to the “FINISHED WORK” of Christ?
  • Is it possible for me to Give someone else (or myself) the free gift of ETERNAL LIFE?
  • Is there anything that I can Do to Prevent myself (or others) from Losing ETERNAL LIFE?
  • Is there anything that I can Do to Seal myself (or others) unto the DAY of REDEMPTION?
  • Is there ANYTHING that I can DO to ADD to, or IMPROVE upon, God’s SALVATION?

Was the "WORK" of REDEMPTION truly "FINISHED" by the Lord Jesus Christ alone, or is there something more that we must "do" in order to receive "ETERNAL LIFE"? Did Christ obtain my ETERNAL SALVATION through His sinless life; His sacrificial death; His atoning blood; and His resurrection, or must I ADD my "works" to His "WORK" and my "sacrifices" to His "SACRIFICE" in order to "insure" that I will "make it in the end"?

The Lord Jesus Christ is the SOLE AUTHOR and FINISHER of our FAITH. [Hebrews 12:2] Rest assured - there is absolutely NOTHING that we can DO to EARN our SALVATION. And there is absolutely NOTHING that we can DO to KEEP it. IF the “WORK OF God’s SALVATION” is NOT already “FINISHED” (by the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone); and IF the Father and the Son can NOT “KEEP” us in the Hollow of Their Hands (Sealed by the Holy Spirit) – we are doomed! For there is NOoffering”; NOsacrifice”; NOwork” that we can possibly DO that can ADD to what God has ALREADY DONE!

But we are confident that “God is able” to DO what we can not do.

Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

We also have confidence in the Holy word of God, that it is able to build us up and give us an inheritance among all of God’s children.

Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

GRACE = God's Riches At Christ's Expense

MAN’S ROLE

THE QUESTION: What must I do to be saved?” [Acts 16:30]

THE BIBLE ANSWER: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” [Acts 16:31]

In order for a man, woman, or child to get “saved” they MUSTBELIEVEon the Lord Jesus Christ and in His FINISHED WORK on Calvary on their behalf (PLUS NOTHING). This is the SOLE REQUIREMENT in this age to receive the FREE GIFT of God’s Salvation. Anyone that ADDS to the FINISHED WORK of Christ is blaspheming God’s holy words and doubting God’s PROMISES concerning His plan of SALVATION.

John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

1 John 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

John 1:12 is the “final word” when it comes to whether a person is saved or not. If a person has RECEIVED the Lord Jesus Christ (after BELEIVING the Gospel of the Grace of God) as their personal Saviour they have become a son of God, and as such are members of the “household of God” [Ephesians 2:18-22]. God corrects and chastises His children; He does not send them to Hell! If you have RECEIVED the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour you are saved and on your way to Heaven; if you have NOT RECEIVED the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you are LOST without HOPE!

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Those people who would ADD their ownWorks” or their ownOfferings” & “Sacrifices” to the FINISHED WORK of Christ are preaching “ANOTHER GOSPEL” – which is NOTanother Gospel” - since there is only ONE TRUE GOSPEL.

Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received,
let him be accursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Those who would dare to “PERVERT” the Gospel of Christ are FALSE TEACHERS & TROUBLE MAKERS – and must be dealt with according to the Holy Scriptures.

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST’S FINISHED WORK

I have met many people, who are members of some of the well known Cults (Roman Catholics, JW’s, Seventh Day Adventists, Church of Christ members, Mormons, etc.) who will “profess” that Jesus Christ is their “savior”; but always with a “caveat” - always with some ADDITIONALfactor” – WHICH ALWAYS ADDS UP TO “WORKS”).

Many people today “profess” that Jesus Christ is their “savior”; but if they are laboring under the delusion that they must DOsomething” (some sort of “WORKS”) in order to KEEP their salvation they are TAKING AWAY from the “FINISHED WORK” of the Lord Jesus Christ on Calvary and ADDING to the Gospel of the Grace of God!

When the Lord Jesus Christ spoke the words “It Is FINISHED” [John 19:30] - you can bet your soul that there is NOTHING that we can DO to ADD to that “FINISHED WORK”! The Lord Jesus Christ did NOT die and shed His blood just for the sins that I committed BEFORE I believed on Him and received Him as my Saviour!

1John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. {ALL OF THEM!}

PROPITIATION, n. propisia'shon.

1. The act of appeasing wrath and conciliating the favor of an offended person; the act of making propitious.

2. In theology, the atonement or atoning sacrifice offered to God to assuage his wrath and render him propitious to sinners. Christ is the propitiation for the sins of men. Rom.3. 1 John 2.

PROPI'TIATE, v.t. L. propitio; pio. Eng. pity.

To conciliate; to appease one offended and render him favorable; to make propitious.

If Christ’s Sacrifice on Calvary is not sufficient for all of my sins (past, present, & future), WHO or WHAT is going to be the “PROPITIATION” for those sins that I have committed since I was saved back in October 1958? It is FOLLY to think or believe that we can possibly “appease” God with our own “WORKS”! It didn’t work for Cain and it will NOT work for anyone else who thinks or believes that God will be satisfied with something other than the Lord Jesus Christ’s perfect sacrifice on Calvary!

Christ did not just die for our past sins – He died for ALL of our sins: “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” [1 John 2:2] To think or believe otherwise is to ADD to the “FINISHED WORK” of Christ and to CHANGE the Gospel of the Grace of God! The Apostle Paul had NOTHING “GOOD” to say about those who CHANGE or PERVERT the Gospel OF Christ – and neither should we!

Galatians 1:1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)
2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:
3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

What’s the difference between someone “thinking” or “believing” that they can DOsomething” to EARN God’s salvation, and someone “thinking” or “believing” that they must DOsomething” to KEEP it?

When someone (it matters not as to who) believes that they can DOsomething” (“works”) in order to EARN their salvation they are pitting theirrighteousness” against the “righteousness” of God [Romans 3:21-23; 1Corinthians 1:30; Philippians 3:9]. When someone (it matters not as to who) believes (as most Catholics do) that they must DOsomething” (i.e. “works”) in order to “help” God out, in some way”, to either EARN their salvation or KEEP it, they are casting doubt on the efficacy (i.e. effectiveness) of Christ’s “FINISHED WORK” on Calvary - whether they are aware of it or not! When someone (it matters not as to who) professes that Christ is their “savior”, but “thinks” or “believes” that they must still DOsomething” (i.e. “works”) in order to KEEP their salvation they are calling into question - the capacity of God’s Grace to SAVE to the uttermost, and the power of God to KEEP His saints. They certainly are NOT TRUSTING in the “FINISHED WORK” OF CHRIST for their salvation - whether they are aware of it or not!

Please think about this: Most Roman Catholics “believe” that the Lord Jesus Christ was born of a virgin; that He performed many miracles; that He is the Son of God; that He is the Second Member of the “Trinity” (i.e. the “Godhead”); that He died, and was buried, and rose again from the dead – so what’s “the problem”? The “problem” is: Most Roman Catholics do NOT believe that that our salvation is solely a “gift” from God - without any of our WORKS attached to it [Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 5:15; 6:23]. They do NOT believe IN Christ’s “FINISHED WORK” on Calvary (i.e. they do NOT believe that Christ “earned” our salvation - all by Himself). They do NOT believe that God’s salvation is COMPLETE (in and of itself). They do NOT believe ON Christ’s ability to KEEP His “sheep”. In other words, they do NOT TRUST Him to KEEP His promises concerning ETERNAL LIFE – i.e. His “GIFT” to those who have believed ON Him.

[John 10:27-28; Romans 5:21; 6:23; Titus 1:1-3; Titus 3:4-7; 1John 2:25; 5:11-13]

They do NOT believe that once a person has believed in or upon the Lord Jesus Christ and has received Him as their Saviour, that they are “born again” of God [John 3:5-8]; and that they “become the sons of God” [John 1:12-13], and “saints, and of the household of God” [Ephesians 2:18-22]; and that once they are “born again” that they are in the Father’s & in the Son’s Hands [John 10:27-29] and are “sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise” [Ephesians 1:12-14; 4:30] – with absolutely no possibility of losing their ETERNAL LIFE (i.e. SALVATION) or their “sonship”.

WHY would a person, who “professes” to believe in Christ as their Saviour, ever cast doubt on Almighty God’s ability to KEEP His saints? WHY would they ever think or believe that we could lose our salvation? Or be cast into “outer darkness”? Or be cast “into Hell”? WHAT would lead a “Christian” to think or believe such a fantastic LIE? I can think of only one “thing” that would lead any one, who “professes” to be a Christian, to think or believe such a thing, and it is called “SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS”! Only a “self-righteous” person would dare to “think” or “believe” that they can actually DOsomething” to either EARN God’s Salvation or KEEP IT!

Imagine: A genuine born again child of God “thinking” or “believing” that their righteousness can “measure up” to God’s righteousness [Isaiah 64:6]! Or that there is “something” that they can DO that can ADD to the “FINISHED WORK” of the Lord Jesus Christ on Calvary - i.e. some “work” that they can perform in order to KEEP their “salvation”: a “salvation” which the Lord Jesus Christ EARNED (all by Himself) and which is a “FREE GIFT” [Romans 5:15-16,18] from God (but only to those who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and have received Him as their personal Saviour).

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Imagine: A genuine born again child of God “thinking” or “believing” that there is “something” that they can DO to SECURE “their salvation” – when it is “God’s Salvation” to begin with!

Those “Christians” who “think” or “believe” that there is “something” they can do to ADD to the “FINISHED WORK” of the Lord Jesus Christ on Calvary, or who “think” or “believe” that there is “something” that they can do to “help God out” - in order to KEEP their salvation are laboring under a Satanic delusion! It’s God’s “Salvation” – NOT ours! CHRIST EARNED IT! And there is NOTHING that any one can DO to RECEIVE God’s Salvation - other than to BELIEVE ON GOD’S SON (THE LORD JESUS CHRIST); and there is NOTHING anyone, who has received the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour, can DO (as born again sons of God) to KEEP God’s Salvation! And to “think” or “believe” otherwise is the height of personal pride and self-righteousness!

I can not get into an in depth exposition (at this time) on the issues of Biblical “justification” (how we are “justified” in God’s eyes); Biblical “sanctification” (how we are “sanctified” in God’s eyes); or Biblical “righteousness” (how we become “righteous” in God’s eyes); other than to say that the issue of “the Salvation of God” [Psalms 50:23; Acts 28:28] includes the study, and understanding, of these Scriptural “precepts” and “principles”; and more. Getting saved is easy - Understanding God’s Salvation takes personal study, meditation, prayer, and the Holy Spirit of God revealing the truth of God in these matters to the individual believer, as He “sees fit”.

If a Christian wants to know God’s mind on these issues I recommend spending several months in reading and studying the Apostle Paul’s Epistle to the Romans, along with his Epistle to the Galatians as a companion Book. The “Gospel of the Grace of God” is fully explained in these two Books - far better than I could ever hope to explain it. It is impossible for me to “give” another person “understanding” in these matters!

I am just a simple Bible believer, but this much I do know:

I am “justified” freely by God’s Grace and by Christ’s FINISHED WORK on Calvary

Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

I am “sanctified” in Christ Jesus by Christ’s FINISHED WORK on Calvary

1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

I have been made “righteous” by (through) Christ’s FINISHED WORK on Calvary

Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

In October 1958 (after reading the Holy Bible and hearing the Gospel of the Grace of God) I believed in the Lord Jesus Christ’s substitutionary death, burial, and resurrection on my behalf; and I trusted in His “FINISHED WORK” on Calvary for my salvation; and received Him as my personal Saviour. Having lived as a Christian for over 51 years now - this much I know: If our salvation is not all of "GRACE" - we are all doomed! GRACE = God's Riches At Christ's Expense. I am fully “JUSTIFIED” because of the Lord Jesus Christ’s “FINISHED WORK” on Calvary - NOT because of anything I have DONE; or am DOING; or could DO! I am “JUSTIFIED” in God’s eyes {Just As If I Never Sinned} because of what my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ did on Calvary. I have believed on (trusted) the Lord Jesus Christ’s ability to not only “SAVE” me from my past sins, present sins, and future sins; I am also convinced that he is able to “KEEP” me until the day of redemption. I am not so “foolish” as to “think” or “believe” that I could possibly “KEEP” myself – having lived so long as a Christian, I KNOW BETTER!

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

As a born again Bible believing Christian I am TRUSTING IN the Lord Jesus Christ's "FINISHED WORK" on Calvary on my behalf, and I am:

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the

 cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." [Hebrews 12:2]

WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF YOU COULD “LOSE YOUR SALVATION?

1.      GOD’S GRACE WOULD NOT   BE SUFFICIENT TO KEEP YOU!  [Acts 15:11, 20:32; Romans 5:21; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 2:11]

2.     THE FAITH OF CHRIST WOULD FAIL  TO SECURE YOU!  [Galatians 2:16; Philippians 3:9]

3.     YOU WOULD LOSE  CHRIST’S RIGHTEOUSNESS!  [Romans 3:22, 5:17, 5:21, 10:4, 1Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 3:9; 2Peter 1:1]

4.     THEN - ALL YOUR SINS WERE NOT  REALLY FORGIVEN!  [Acts 13:38;, 26:18; Ephesians 1:7, 4:32; Colossians 1:14, 2:13; 1 John 2:12]

Now, can you see why I get so upset with those people who believe that they can lose salvation? They are impugning God’s Character; His Words; His Promises; His Integrity; & His Abilities! They refuse to believe the written record; and prefer to believe a LIE!

IF you could lose your salvation – all of these things I have cited would have to take place (and there are more!). When we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and receive Him as our Saviour, we aren’t just “saved from Hell” (The Lord is not just a “Fire Escape” from “Hell”; or a “Life Preserver” to avoid the Lake of Fire. He hasn’t just given us a “Get Out Of “Hades” Free Card). When we receive the Lord Jesus Christ there’s a whole lot more that takes place in a believer - far more than most Christians are aware of!

After King David had committed the heinous sins of adultery and murder, he wasn’t worried about “LOSING” his salvation – he didn’t ask God to “RESTORE” his salvation he asked God to:

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.” [Psalms 51:12]

Please tell me: IF you can lose your Salvation, HOW do you get all of these things back?

HOW do you get REPARDONED; REJUSTIFIED; REBORN; RESEALED; READOPTED; RECIRCUMSIZED; RESEATED; ETC.; ETC? HOW do you become a sheep; a son; a saint; etc.; etc.; all over AGAIN?

IF you can lose your Salvation, just exactly what kind of sin, or number of sins, does it take to lose it? You can get in a heap of trouble when you refuse to BELIEVE the word of God.

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the
author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
